In a 24-year career with The Reuters Group PLC, Mike moved from correspondent and editor to a range of executive positions in Marketing, News and Corporate Communications before turning full time in 1996 to operating Hally Enterprises, Inc. Investor, Government and Media Relations were among the disciplines he practiced and later oversaw, while acting as Chief Spokesman for Reuters Group in the Americas. As strategic adviser to Alcoa Corporate Communications on all aspects of the Alcoa Web presence, Hally guided rollout of the first corporate web site and established the initial best practice guidelines worldwide. Studies, research or strategic planning of Internet solutions has been provided for firms as diverse as Schering-Plough, Lexis-Nexis, Lockheed Martin and PR Newswire. Mike has acted as senior consultant for the design and branding firm, Addison and Company; for the international investment and crisis communications company, Broadgate Consultants Inc; and for the marketing and public relations agency, Spring, O'Brien and Co. He has signed a similar agreement with Makinson-Cowell, the leading UK-based equity advisory firm. Along with London-based partner Stephen Somerville -- Hally operates GLOBALWRITERS, which provides high quality, custom news stories from culturally embedded veteran producers across the world to multinational corporations, and non-governmental and other organizations. With his work published in NEWSDAY, the Christian Science Monitor and numerous other outlets, Mike also writes a quarterly "Letter from America" for the UK Investor Relations Society quarterly journal.
